Our 2015-2016 Season

Our new season combines the internationally acclaimed (Eugenia Zukerman, Chatham Baroque ) with the absolutely unique (Low & Lower, D’Amore Duo).

October 4, 2015 at 7:00 PM
Eugenia Zukerman

Our new season opens with the internationally renowned flutist, orchestral soloist, chamber musician and recitalist Eugenia Zukerman. She has performed as soloist with many of the world’s finest orchestras. While maintaining an international concert calendar with more than thirty performances annually, her multi-faceted career also includes distinguished work as an arts administrator, author, educator, internet entrepreneur and journalist. We are thrilled to have her appear in Fairmont.

D’Amore Duo

The D’Amore Duo (guitar and oboe) last played for us in 2001 and were enthusiastically received. The Washington Post called them “excellent technicians, first rate musicians and impressive interpreters of a wide range of music…. a perfect partnership of sound…an elegant sense of style”.

February 7, 2016 at 3:00 PM
Chatham Baroque

The acclaimed period instrument ensemble Chatham Baroque returns to our series after an absence of sixteen years. They have maintained a full calendar of national and international tours, musical collaborations and CD releases. Recent appearances include those with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Pittsburgh Opera, Wolf Trapp, the Piccolo Spoleto Festival and many more. The Washington Post called them “Musically impeccable” and the Chicago Tribune said “a splendid period instrument ensemble”.

March 20, 2016 at 7:00 PM
Low & Lower Duo

Our season closes with the uniquely serious as well as uniquely humorous cello/bass duo Low & Lower. They tour with a mix of classical chestnuts, contemporary works, theater pieces and musical parodies. They have been called “marvelous musicians who serve up serious art with wit and charm”. Their programs are a beguiling mix of beauty, virtuosity and humor.
