Our 2005-2006 Season

Manhattan Music Ensemble

The opening concert of our new season will introduce the Manhattan Music Ensemble Piano Trio to our series.
The Manhattan Music Ensemble (MME) is rapidly gaining recognition as one of the most versatile and exciting emerging ensembles coming out of New York City. Formed in January’ 04, MME comprises of five musicians who perform in various groupings. The Piano Trio is the core group and musical nucleus of the ensemble. The three Juilliard trained musicians gave their debut at the Paul Recital Hall, Lincoln Center and have played at Steinway Hall, NY, and at Augusta, GA, and they have been featured on WRTA and WPSU radio. Pianist Milana Strezeva, violinist Dmitry Lukin and cellist Dmitry Kouzov are all accomplished soloists in their own right and have been performing together since the fall of 2003. During the 2004-05 season the Piano Trio performed over 60 concerts in 16 states along the eastern seaboard, including their debut recital at the Alice Tully Hall (NYC). The Trio members’ passionate dedication to the next generation audience has led them to travel to towns often bypassed by major classical groups. The enthusiastic response from these communities has generated many return engagements in colleges and fine arts series. MME has collaborated with numerous Artistic Directors from Florida to Massachusetts and helped them commence a regular concert series catering to their community. This has also enabled MME to gain a strong local audience and help introduce chamber music to a new and receptive audience. This is one of the primary goals of the ensemble. Since it’s formation, MME has also appeared on several radio broadcasts, including NPR’s “Concert Hall” (WETS-Johnson City, TN) and “Tuesday Music Live” (Georgia Public Radio). MME collaborated with renowned Georgian Organist Andre Lash for an “Organ with Strings and Piano” concert in Augusta (GA) that was featured live on “Pipedreams Public Radio” hosted by Michael Barone. MME strives to evoke a range of pure human emotions through musical harmony, collaboration and creative programming.
