Individual tickets are available for all of our concerts but our subscription rate provides great savings as well as helping to assure the ongoing financial stability of our society. All FCMS concerts are held at St. Peter the Fisherman Church, Jackson Street in downtown Fairmont, WV at 3:00 PM on Sundays.
St. Peter may be entered with low physical effort through the side entrance and an elevator has been installed next to the Jackson Street entrance.

Tickets are available at the door. St. Peters is a large church with beautiful acoustics and stained glass windows. We'll see you there.
These programs are provided with financial assistance from the WV Department of Arts, Culture and History along with the National Endowment for the Arts with approval from the WV Commission on the Arts.



Our 2022-2023 Season


"The Fairmont Chamber Music Society Board of Directors looks forward to the upcoming 2022-2023 concert season and its celebration of 40 years providing quality chamber music to north central West Virginia.

All Sunday concerts are at 3:00 p.m. and are held at St. Peter the Fisherman Church in downtown Fairmont followed by a reception where the audience may enjoy refreshments and meet the artists.

The FCMS Board of Directors thanks its patrons and the public for adhering to the Covid 19 guidelines that were put in place for last season.

However, the new 2022-2023 season is open to everyone without Board mandated restrictions.

The wearing of masks at concerts, though not required, is encouraged inside the church venue.

First: Balourdet String Quartet


Our new season opens with the brilliant young Balourdet String Quartet. Based in Boston, Massachusetts, the quartet is currently in residence at the New England Conservatory’s Professional String Quartet Program. They received the Grand Prize at the 2021 Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition as well as the top prize awarded in the 2021 Premio Paolo Borciani in Reggio Emilia, Italy. The group also received the Gold Medal in the 2020 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and the Gold Medal and Audience Award at the 2021 Chamber Music Yellow Springs Competition.

Second: Mirror Visions Ensemble


Featuring soprano, tenor, baritone and piano, MVE 's programs take audiences on an imaginative journey through song, showcasing well-known and often-neglected pieces by composers both familiar and new, set to texts by poets and historical figures that encompass published works, correspondence and other anecdotes.

Third: Vision Duo


A first for us, this violin and marimba duo features works by classical and contemporary composers and introduces multidisciplinary elements of modern performance. Ariel Horowitz and Britton - René Collins are recipients of the 2020 CAG Competition's Ambassador Prize, awarded to musicians who show an exceptional level of virtuosity and humanity in their interest in community engagement and bringing the voices of new composers to the forefront.

Fourth: Merz Trio


To close our 41st season we are pleased to present the Merz Trio. Praised for their "fresh and surprising interpretations," the award-winning Merz Trio are known for their passionate, original playing. The Trio have made a sweep of recent US chamber awards, taking top prizes at the 2021 Naumburg, 2019 Concert Artists Guild, 2019 Fischoff, and 2018 Chesapeake Competitions. Upcoming appearances include performances at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

Fairmont Chamber Music Society, Inc. is recognized as a publicly supported organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. As such, donors who contribute to the Foundation may deduct their contributions as provided in Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Bequests, legacies, devises, transfers or gifts to the FCMS Inc. or for its use are deductible for Federal estate and gift tax purposes if they meet the applicable provisions of sections 2055, 2106 and 2522 of the Code. In "English", this means that a donor may contribute to the FCMS, Inc. and take a tax deduction for that donation on their Federal Income Tax return.
